Online applications are invited by the High Court Of Gujarat from various eligible candidates who have graduated in Law. There are many vacancies for the candidates. these include law clerks as well as legal assistants. A fixed salary of rupees 10,000 will be given to them. It will be purely based ad-hoc and contractual basis. Initially, it will be for a period of only 11 months. Later, it can be extended further. However, this has to be approved by the Chief Justice. The submission of applications should be done online. The applications will not be accepted by other modes or means. Applications should be submitted through a website which will be open for some specific time period. Given below are the eligibility criteria for applying to the job in Gujarat High Court:
- Age limit
The minimum age limit for a person applying to the job is 27 years. This should be in accordance with publication of advertisement.
A person should have completed graduation in Law with minimum of 55 percent marks. Graduation should be pursued from any institution of university in India which has a recognition from University Grants Commission. Candidates who are currently studying in the 5th year of the law course are also eligible for submitting their applications. However, they should pass the 5th year examination before they are appointed. They should have a basic knowledge about computer operation and application.
- Mode of payment and fees
The application fee is 100 rupees. Separate bank charges are also applicable. Candidates who are paying the fees should remit it in Current bank account number 30725811785 of State Bank of India, High Court Complex Branch, Ahmadabad. This can be done through core service branches of State Bank of India. A cash voucher is used for this purpose. It should be done in accordance with a special format. The fees should be paid during working hours and days of the bank. Once the fees is paid, it is not refundable.
- Selection process
The legal assistants shall be selected based on their achievements in co-curricular activities, academic records, requisite knowledge of computer applications, proficiency in research skills as well as their performance at the interview. Candidates will be called for an interview on the basis of the marks that are obtained in the written test as well as their academic record. The aptitude, orientation and personality of a candidate also matters to a great extent.
